4 Foods to avoid with High Blood Pressure

1. Vegetables are healthy but pickled vegetables in brine are loaded with sodium salt. A small gherkin may contain almost a third of the recommended daily allownace (RDA) or approximately 700 to 800mg.

2. Asian food is laced with sodium. Whether it is soups or main course dishes, they chefs add salt liberally. For example a bowl of chicken noodle soup contains well over a third of your RDA of sodium.

3. Some fast food outlets are starting to claim that they are frying the fries in non-trans fat oil. That is a positive but it still means you are eating a large quatity of fat. A small portion of fries has about 190 calories of fat and over 15% of daily sodium allowance.

4. A single pot of frozen pie has about 1300 mg sodium which is more than 50% of RDA. That is not all, do you know how much fat there is in such a pie? Around 35 g. That is over 300 calories of mostly trans fat.
